Creative Investment Forum in Cannes on 03 July 2014
Our CREATIVE INVESTMENT FORUM took place in the Villa Noalles in Cannes, Cote d’Azur, at 3 July 2014.
The Cannes Creative Investment Forum brought together startups from the cultural and creative industries and business angels from the Cannes region as well as cross-border investors from Europe. 11th Investment Forum at 2013 NEM Summit in Nantes, October 2013
Our 11th INVESTMENT FORUM was hosted by the 2013 NEM Summit on October 29 and 30, 2013, the “not-to-be-missed” annual event for all those interested in Future Internet developments and in the fast-paced evolution of the networked and electronic media industry.
Media Deals brought 11 international companies to pitch in front of 8 high-level investors.
12th Investment Forum at ICT 2013 in Vilnius
Our 12th INVESTMENT FORUM took place during the ICT 2013 one of Europe’s biggest digital technology event in Vilnius on 6-7 November 2013.
Media Deals brought 12 companies from all over Europe together for an intensive pitching preparation workshop with Umberto de Foe (Meta Group) and Alexander Berlin (peacefulfish) and a final pitch in front of 15 international investors including VCs and Business Angels.
CAST partners bring together extensive experience in working with creative and tourism enterprises across Europe and stimulating their creation, growth and internationalisation. Co-funded by the European Commission’s COSME programme, CASTaims to provide incubation & acceleration support to sustainable tourism start-ups and SMEs to grow and scale. We will help them generate new products, services and business models, facilitate access to finance and new markets, while also helping them build new skills and resilience.
DeFINE is a collaborative project co-funded by the European Commission’s COSME programme which aims to support the fusion of cutting-edge technologies and innovation with the European fashion and design industries. Throughout the three years of the project (2018-2021), we will develop a network of incubators & accelerators, start-ups & SMEs, and financiers to form a European fashion-technology community where cross-sectoral knowledge will be shared, ideas will grow and transnational collaboration will be nurtured.
Green Screen aims to reduce the carbon footprint of European film and TV production. The film and TV industries are a successful driver for growth across Europe, but they are also a major source of carbon emissions. Productions move between locations and affect the environment through their use of transport, construction, lighting, catering and water. Green Screen will share best practice in sustainable production across Europe to encourage film and TV production companies and their suppliers to adopt green measures, train staff and create new jobs linked to sustainable working. Our partners will also develop regional policies to support sustainable practice.
TWIST connects four existing local web entrepreneurship startup ecosystems and hubs (Rome, Lille, Warsaw, Stockholm) providing new services for web entrepreneurs aiming at scaling up and competing in the global market. Through the application of the “lean startup model”, TWIST will help the accelerated companies to establish several valuable contacts to mentors and potential clients.
ACE Creative is the next generation of the ACE Acceleration Programme. Building up on its founding father, ACE Creative is aimed only at start-ups and SMEs mixing the latest technologies with creativity (e.g. 3D printing). ACE Creative will leverage a European network of expertise in training, investment and business coaching, ensuring these companies rapidly gain entry and grow into international markets.
WeHubs is a 2-year European project which aimed at providing a strong support to women web entrepreneurs in Europe and coordinating existing web entrepreneurs’ ecosystems to provide dedicated services to women.
FI Business provides complementary support actions such as boot camps, investment forums, e-pitches, one-on-one online training, webinars and workshops to the FIWARE accelerators and their startups.

French born, Dorothée worked for a decade as a print journalist for french-speaking newspapers and publications. She then joined the film industry where she worked as a creative producer for several film production companies in Berlin.
Dorothée hold a MA in Comparative Literature from University of Lille Charles-de-Gaulle and a MA in European Journalism from IHECS, journalism school in Brussels.
Thierry has 20+ years of experience in the communications and entertainment industries. After graduating in Paris he worked in London as a business consultant for entertainment companies and telecom operators, then in France and Germany in business development for Vivendi, and then for ARTE – the Franco-German TV station – in Strasbourg. Thierry then completed an MBA at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy and at UCLA in Los Angeles, where he specialized in film financing and e-commerce. In 2012, he graduated from the European Executive Programme of the Ecole National d’Administration (ENA) in France.
For Media Deals, Thierry is in charge of developing the investment network across Europe and managing the network’s Investment Forums, which regularly bring mediatech companies and investors together for pitching sessions. With regard to this, he supports the network’s investors in identifying investment opportunities and in carrying out due diligence with a focus on cross-border transactions and exit strategies.
He was also the project director of Media Deals’ EU project ImMediaTe, which examined financial mechanisms for digital media between five European clusters (Barcelona, Rome, Malta, Paris, and Amsterdam) and is now the director of the new DG Connect project European Investor Gate (EIG). Thierry has also been developing different creative industries funds for the film, music, and video games sectors. He is a regular speaker at conferences and summits on content and technology as well as an expert for the European Commission on regulations for investment in the digital sector.
She is a strategic advisor for European funding institutions and development agencies and is a veteran project director of several EU-projects focusing on accelerating creative and digital businesses through innovation programmes. She developed media positioning strategies for countries and regions e.g. in Asia, across Europe and in the UAE, and feasibility studies for national and international clients.
As Executive Advisor with 30 years of experience in the creative industries, Juliane holds an extensive cross-industrial knowledge, specialising in financing and business consulting of technology driven entrepreneurs in the creative industries. As coach and mentor, she supports SMEs in business planning and in investment readiness. As trainer and moderator, she holds workshops on access to finance and entrepreneurship at investment and innovation forums, at business training events, as well as at leading business incubators.
Juliane is guest lecturer at Freie Universität Berlin, Director of Investors Lab Berlin, and chairs EBN’S ‘Cultural, Creative and Digital Special Interest Group’. Previously she headed the Multi-Platform Business School, lectured at the Media Business School and teaches at various international audio-visual labs, markets and business summits like Arts+ at the Frankfurt Book Fair, ArtLab Milano or at Laval Virtual. Juliane is Fellow at the Competence Center Cultural and Creative Industries of the Federal Republic of Germany.
